Doorstep Discovery

Our research highlighted that locals and people from surrounding districts alike know relatively little about the Borough’s rich leisure offer, and/or do not associate prime assets such as Haydock Park Racecourse with St.Helens.

This theme is all about communicating the diverse, high quality leisure offer on people’s proverbial doorstep,  via two parallel campaigns with distinct target audiences – one local, for whom St.Helens is their doorstep, the other focussed on those within a 1 to 1.5 hour drive time for whom St.Helens is on their doorstep.

Both will involve stunning imagery and simple messaging, albeit with different emphases, to showcase the full range of our fantastic assets – from the well-known attractions and events to the hidden gems.

Target audiences

  • All those who live and work locally
  • Day visitors within a 1 to1.5 hour drive time, focusing on the family, grey and young singles segments
  • The group travel market.

Key Aims:

  • To stimulate locals to explore, appreciate, and promote their local assets
  • To instil, enhance and harness local pride
  • To raise St.Helens’ profile as a (day) visitor destination
  • To increase visitor numbers and spend
  • To reinforce positive messages about St.Helens as a business/residential location.

Key messages

  • Explore and enjoy the diverse, accessible, high quality attractions, events and amenities on your doorstep.
