Record breaking golfer launches new £2 million academy golf course

Sky  TV presenter and record breaking golfer, Glenn Turner, is to open a nine hole golf course academy on Thursday (August 6 2009) at The North West National golf course in Rainford, St.Helens.

Complementing the par 3 nine hole course will be a floodlight 80 bay driving range and the Glenn Turner Golf school, which represents a £2 million investment. It will also incorporate the largest Nevada Bobs golf superstore in the UK stretching over 6,000 sq ft.

As a world renowned professional and TV coach, Glenn completed a year long Guinness world record for the most 18 hole golf courses played in 12 months. He has brought his expertise to The North West National which he designed and plans to make it one of the most enjoyable courses in the UK.

Glenn commented on the launch of the nine hole par 3 academy course. He said:

“The directors of the North West National, the development team and myself are delighted to launch this first phase of a multi-million pound investment. This is just the start of what is going to be a truly wonderful course to play on but it will also give golfers expert coaching and comprehensive facilities. There’s been an enormous amount of research and planning gone into the development of the course which will make it one of the most testing in the UK.
